MSUM volleyball. This was taken from the floor with the 50mm. My boss just told me today that I should take all photos from the stands. They looked at the hundreds of photos I took last week without me looking/deleting/editing any and think I only took "about ten" usable photos. I don't have a long lens this week so I feel that getting closer is better with the 50 mm.

Any thoughts??

I like this one a lot - a tense moment, full of concentration on the faces and there's a nice composition as a bonus.

The trouble with volleyball is that both teams are kept apart, there's only straight confrontation at the net.
You'd really have to ask why they want you to shoot from the stands. I have a feeling it doesn't have to do with the quality of shots like these, but with a wish to have pictures with both teams on them.
